An electricity pylon or transmission tower (also known as an ironman in Australia and a hydro tower in parts of Canada) is a tall structure, usually a steel lattice tower, used to support overhead electricity conductors for electric power transmission. They are used in high voltage AC and DC systems as well as railway traction, and come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.
